Modern India has special respect, attraction and curiosity towards its ancient cultural heritage, art and literature. This is the reason why along with various arts, art and craft have special importance from home, family, society to market and the global world. Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has continuously promoted the painting department under its non-educational department. Every year, art festival is organized from school level to national level in this context. Art, craft and painting competitions and activities are organized on various topics from time to time by various ministries, departments and institutions.
Under the painting department in K.V. 1 Indore, art and craft work is taught to the students through clay, paper, sand, wood, stone, thread, rope, poster making etc. Along with regular teachers, arts instructors have been appointed in both the shifts.
As a result, 20 students of the school participated in the painting competition by Creative Edge, 10 students in the national level Kala Ke Rang, Indore, one student Divyanshi Gupta Class 12 selected in National Art Festival 2023, 20 students in Master Stroke Painting Competition, 125 students participated in Global Drawing and Painting Competition and many students received awards and were winners in these competitions.
In the school, a period has been arranged in every class every week for Art and Craft.
